TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Warranty Administrator working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a Warranty Administrator is to file warranties regarding to tractor and trailer manufacturers.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the road repair service department with breakdowns to determine maintenance options for warranty repairs
  • Research and resolve warranty inquiries and problems with vendors
  • Effectively communicate with drivers, vendors, Fleet Managers, and other internal personnel
  • Enter breakdown warranty data into the company computer database
  • Collect failed warranty parts form shops
  • Utilize web-based technology to file warranty
  • Review invoices and contact vendors with warranty issues
  • Manage shipment of failed parts
  • Ensure awareness of and enforce company policies
  • Maintain and log maintenance records pertaining to unit warranty history
  • Promote safety throughout all areas of operations
  • Participate as an active member in Quality/Kaizen teams and attend company meetings, as necessary

 

Job Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-Year Degree in Transportation or Logistics, preferably and/or relevant experience in a maintenance-related field
  • Fluent in computer applications and keyboard proficiency
  • Possess courteous, yet assertive telephone personality
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to plan and organize, attentive to detail, assert problem-solving skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to lift up to 65lbs when needed
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to sit and use a telephone and computer, simultaneously, for extended periods of time
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment
