TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for an Accounts Receivable Clerk working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of an Accounts Receivable Clerk si to post receipts received by customers and make occasional collection calls as needed.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily posting of cash receipts/billing into general ledger
  • Data entry of cash receipts received by customers
  • Research unapplied monies and post accordingly
  • Monitor accounts and make collection calls as needed
  • Research financial information on companies and establish credit based upon criteria

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Finance with one year of related work experience
  • Collections experience a Plus
  • Must have the ability to analyze financial data
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize, attentive to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Possess courteous, yet assertive telephone personality

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to sit and use telephone and computer, simultaneously, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment.
