TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Solution Architect working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary role of the Solution Architect – Supply Chain will be to lead the architecture and design of supply chain systems including SaaS transportation management systems and related applications which automate supply chain and logistics functions at TMC. In addition, the Solution Architect – Supply Chain will be responsible for technical oversight for these critical applications. As TMC continues to grow and adapt to meet industry challenges, the Solution Architect – Supply Chain will play a key leadership role in the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of new systems in this space.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide architecture, design, technical oversight and support over multiple SaaS and internally developed applications.
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert (SME) for all things related to supply chain, transportation & logistics applications.
  • Design and implement integrations between business-critical applications
  • Serve on the Enterprise Architecture team, providing insight into application solutions and 3rd party/vendor solutions.
  • Partner with vendors to provide strategic direction and support of applications and solutions.
  • Work with the PMO and internal teams to provide insight on complex technology matters.
  • Create proof-of-concepts to demonstrate viability of solutions under consideration.
  • Partner business stakeholders to define business and technical requirements.
  • Participate in enterprise road mapping and strategic planning meetings. 

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of experience in designing, engineering or supporting technology solutions related to the supply chain.
  • Strong understanding of web services, API frameworks, and micro-service architectures.
  • Experience in enterprise systems, integration architecture, governance, and cloud-based ecosystems.
  • Experience with software development life cycle processes or Agile development.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and consultation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Management, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.

 

PREFERRED CONSIDERATION:

  • Experience working with transportation management systems and/or enterprise supply chain systems and related technologies
  • Experience with Integration Platform as a Service (IPaaS) solutions.
  • Exposure to modern Enterprise Architecture frameworks and tools.
