TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Workers Compensation Administrative Assistant working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a Workers Compensation Administrative Assistant is to act as an administrative support for the workers compensation and federal compliance department.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set and enter new claims into claims management system
  • Process mail, file, fax, and photocopy
  • Prepare, create, and/or send letters, reports, and forms
  • Initiate and receive telephone calls to obtain, provide, and relay information from medical billing offices
  • Process workers compensation indemnity and medical benefits
  • Coordinate and arrange travel and light duty positions for injured employees
  • Prepare state EDI reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma and 1-2 years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration medical guidelines preferred
  • Experience working with HIPPA protected information
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and tolerate stress
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, organize, be attentive to detail, and have problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
