TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for an IT Project Manager working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.



The primary function of an IT Project Manager is being responsible for the coordination and completion of Information Technology related projects. The project manager will oversee the full project lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, deployment). The IT Project Manager may oversee one or more scrum teams and function in the role of Scrum Master. 



  • Work closely with business users, business leaders, database administrators, business analysts, IT support, and developers when designing and deploying projects.
  • Coordinate and lead team meetings as necessary to gather and organize project business and technical requirements.
  • Research and gather business requirements necessary to author statements of work.
  • Identified resources requirements and potential risks.
  • Suggests opportunities for business improvements with technology solutions.
  • Sets deadlines and milestones to keep projects on track.
  • Provides updates that include performance metrics to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Provides ongoing support to business and technology teams.
  • Maintains documentation
  • May lead and direct the work of others.


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training – an MIS or CS degree preferred
  • Proficient in Atlassian tools or experience with Microsoft Project or similar tools 
  • Understanding of software development practices, languages, and tools.
  • PRINCE2, CAPM or PMP certification is encouraged
  • Agile software development methodology
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A strong team player who can build good working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to engage, encourage and motivate team members.
  • Ability to learn and understand business concepts.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented.
