MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Four-year degree, preferably in Transportation and Logistics and/or relevant experience
- Fluent in keyboard proficiency and 10-key
- Ability to plan, organize, be attentive to detail and possess a strong problem-solving skill
- Strong customer solicitation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to sit and use a telephone and computer simultaneously for extended periods of time
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment

TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Customer Service Representative working out of our office in Columbia, SC.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of a Customer Service Rep is to manage ongoing relationships with customers within a designated area by accepting freight, resolving issues, and maintaining customer requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers
- Obtain and upkeep driver and company productivity goals are being met
- Review a list on incoming trucks while speaking directly with customers to take load information and book freight on all available trucks
- Ability to maintain assigned territory of customers
- Maintain and log pre-booked freight that cannot be immediately assigned
- Contact new and existing customers to solicit additional freight, as necessary to load trucks within the designated area
- Research and resolve customer inquiries and problem
- Effectively communicate with customers, sales, fleet managers, and other internal personnel
- Participate in total quality management and process improvement teams
- Utilize web-based technology to gather and track operation data
- Enter customer data and shipping instructions into a computer database
