- Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress

- Must be able to sit and use a telephone and computer simultaneously for extended periods of time
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment

TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Customer Service Assistant working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of a Customer Service Assistant is to provide administration support to the Customer Service department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prove back-up assistance to the Customer Service Representative for load entry
- Maintain various management reports on a periodic basis
- Perform all necessary pre-calls, which are include but not limited to: calling consignees for delivery appointments and directions; updating the MIS information in a time and accurate manner; and sending information the drivers if the load has already been dispatched
- Provide information to customers inquiries and redirect if necessary
- Other duties as assigned
