Job Requirements of Carrier Sales Manager:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day carrier coverage, including order prioritization, carrier assignments, and service execution.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of Carrier Sales Specialists. Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and leadership to ensure professional growth and accountability.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Act as an escalation point for both internal stakeholders and external carriers. Drive carrier engagement, service quality, and long-term strategic value.
- Performance Management: Monitor and analyze team metrics, including KPIs, to ensure operational targets are met. Develop and executing performance improvement plans when needed.
- Pricing & Quoting Strategy: Provide guidance and oversight on carrier pricing and availability to support accurate and competitive customer quoting processes.
- Issue Resolution: Lead the resolution of complex operational issues throughout the load lifecycle—from tendering to final payment—ensuring service continuity and carrier satisfaction.
- Process Improvement & Reporting: Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by analyzing trends, identifying operational gaps, and implementing strategic enhancements. Provide regular updates to the VP of Capacity Strategy on team performance, challenges, and key initiatives.
- Carrier Performance Management: Support the review and evaluation of carrier performance, including recognition and corrective actions where necessary to ensure service standards are met.

Carrier Sales Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Carrier Sales Manager to oversee and optimize freight coverage operations across multiple regionalized coverage teams within our logistics network. This role plays a critical part in managing carrier relationships, ensuring operational efficiency, and developing high-performing carrier sales representatives i.e., freight brokers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of freight brokerage operations, and a commitment to delivering service excellence for both internal stakeholders and external customers.
