TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Senior Product Manager working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the overall scope, implementation, execution and delivery of successful projects within corporate IT product portfolio.   This individual will collaborate with leadership and together, build the vision and strategy necessary to deliver industry-leading innovative technology within Transportation and Logistics.  The Senior Product Manager reports to the Vice President of Information technology. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and design technology-driven solutions to advance the business.
  • Create and maintain overall product vision and roadmap with consistent execution and delivery.
  • Identifies and manages resources necessary to fulfill business requirements and expectations.
  • Provide build vs. buy recommendations along with cost benefit analysis.
  • Initiate the RFI process, manage responses, and organize the product evaluation lifecycle.
  • Participates in the entirety of the project lifecycle from inception to delivery and monitoring.
  • Provides regular status reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Establishes metrics and KPI’s necessary to measure product value
  • Provides guidance and development to direct reports.
  • serves as the chair for the PMO and other teams as needed.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A strong team player who can build good working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to engage, encourage and motivate team members.
  • Ability to learn and understand business concepts.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
  • Comfortable with various planning and collaboration tools. 
  • Understanding of software development practices, languages, and tools.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian product line
  • Agile software development methodology.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ Years of senior management experience
  • 5+ Years of project or product management experience
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Quality Training – Lean / Six Sigma or related.

  • Must be able to sit and use telephone and computer, simultaneously, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high-volume telephone environment.
  • Minimal travel is required.
