TMC Transportation has an immediate opening for a Logs Associates working out of our corporate office in Des Moines, Iowa. The hours for this Logs Associate would be Monday through Friday, day shift.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

Review and maintain records regarding driver compliance with hours of service requirements in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Meet with drivers to review their logs and make sure they are being completed correctly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review driver logs to detect falsification and check for violation of DOT rules
  • Educate and train drivers in the proper completion of logs
  • File and maintain records of driver’s logs
  • Address problems that drivers may encounter with hours of service requirements while they are on the road
  • Assist drivers with obtaining passenger permits
  • Work with other departments needing documentations on driver’s logs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word & Excel)
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
  • Ability to plan and organize, attention to detail, problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be able to sit and use telephone and computer, simultaneously, for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to speak and hear clearly in a high volume telephone environment.
