TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Groundskeeper working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a Groundskeeper is to maintain grounds of company property, whether it be industrial, commercial, or public property.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls
  • Clean grounds and remove litter
  • Rake and bag or burns leaves
  • Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides
  • Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walks
  • Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment
  • Make minor repairs to and maintains building areas
  • Assists office departments with moving and storage of documents and equipment
  • Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree), and/or one to three months related experience or training
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift, climb, kneel, walk, and stand for long periods of times
